Master Degree In Musical Creation, New Technologies And Tradicional Arts

IN-PERSON / DISTANCE LEARNING

PRESENTATION

Spiritual traditions of all times have expressed through the Arts their conception of the world, their knowledge of man and the universe, and the worldview in which their culture is rooted.

We believe that dispersed elements that have provoked a breach with our cultural heritage can be reunited through artistic creation. Thus, the process of musical creation (both instrumental and electronic) can be transformed into “a path of knowledge”, a unique color that broadens the borders of consciousness when unknown lands of creation are explored.

In order to achieve this, the process must take place not only from an intellectual perspective but also through what all spiritual traditions call: a process of “initiation”.

The Master Degree Program in Musical Creation, New Technologies and Traditional Arts aims to articulate the knowledge of the relation between artistic praxis, new technologies and traditional learning, in a context of training where individuals can experience their artistic vocation as a genuine process of internal transformation

AIMED AT
Composers, instrumentalists and music teachers, researchers, music therapists, and specialists in Social Sciences and Humanities, along with professionals interested in increasing their knowledge of musical praxis and research and their connection with the spiritual traditions of all times.

OBJECTIVES
  • Develop and consolidate creative, intellectual, pedagogic, physical and spiritual capabilities, conceived as a unique entity of knowledge.
  • Integrate science, art and tradition to promote a new conception of creation.
  • Update the heritage of traditional sources through a personal search that can resort to vanguard shapes, structures, materials and technological media.
  • Bridge the gap between the erudite and the composer, between intellectual cogitation and instrumental praxis, which is an inherited division of a certain belated conception in the history of music.

GRADUATE PROFILE
Within this framework, candidates are expected to develop the following competencies:
a)     Aptitude for the design and development of teaching and research projects in the field of creation.
b)     Ability of exploiting the state‐of‐the‐art technological advances while boosting their expressive possibilities and             avoiding their uncritical use.
c)     Inclusion of intuitive knowledge as a necessary complement of deductive logical rationality.
d)  Search for a personal language that stresses the uniqueness of the creator as an individual and the             appreciation of cultural diversity in its various expressions
